On August 27, 2007, I gave Brent the answer he wanted. After being courted, I finally told Brent, “Yes, I’ll be your girlfriend.” I probably should have said yes earlier in the month because now I look forward to celebrating our anniversary more than my own birthday, but that’s ok.

Before Brent and I started dating, I was in a relationship with someone who I wanted to see myself with in the future. Maybe it’s because I loved the whole high school sweethearts idea. But because we didn’t have the same beliefs, it just didn’t work out. I prayed to God and apologized for knowingly placing myself in a relationship that I shouldn’t have been in the first place. I also asked that if and when the time was right, I prayed for someone who would be actively involved in church… and boy did God work fast! Brent came into the picture, and I guess the rest is history. 

Blah, blah, blah.

Anyways… today is our 4th year anniversary and Brent had the whole day planned out based on our relationship’s history. But before that… we had choir practice and volleyball practice.

And then we had some froyo cuz we were a bit hungry.

On the way to our first destination, Brent surprised me with two gifts! A “voucher” for some TOMs and some sweet tickets to see Taylor Swift!!!

Brent took me bowling cuz this is where we had our first kiss. Gross… I know… but I like this picture!

[239/365] Then he blindfolded me, drove around in circles, and gave me the best present I could ever ask for. We ended up at church. This was the place where we made the decision to be exclusive… I think. Anyways, he led me to the pulpit, we knelt before God and he prayed for us, our future and for me. Such a simple act, but it meant the world to me. But then I got mad because my mascara started to run.

Next he took me to the Galleria. We had dinner at Cheesecake because this was our first official date. Afterwards we window shopped a little bit. And finally, we stopped by Nordstroms to get my TOMs.

By the time we got home, Brent still had another gift for me. He serenaded me just like he did after our first year anniversary… except today he sang Ryan Tedder’s The Look and on our first anniversary, he made a song for me!

Brent Wilson De las Alas, if you’re reading this… I love you… to the moon and back! Thank you so much for the past four years, today, tomorrow, and the many more years to come. Besitos, Ten Ten!

Thanks for the amazing memories you never cease to provide! I will always consider you as another home and something that always dents my bank account.

I don’t know why… But this past vacation I had this epiphany that I’m getting super old. When I first met some crazy canucks, we were barely out of middle school… And now we have diplomas and bachelors. With that said… Congratulations to all the graduates, I’m so proud of y’all! Go out and conquer the world with the gifts God had kindly blessed you with! … And don’t forget to invite me to y’alls weddings! ;)

I know you’re in doggy heaven now… even though mommy, daddy, Ashley, and I don’t want to believe nor accept it… But I’d like to thank you for several things.

Thank you for being there with me from my first boyfriend and to my last boyfriend.

Thank you for being there with daddy while he would take his numerous smoke breaks throughout his visits.

Thank you for having Belle. And for putting up with Mac. And Douglas. And Killer. And Tigger. And Charlie. And Charlie Bear.

Thank you for being my alarm clock when I was in high school.

Thank you for waiting for me to come home. I know it was hard for you to wait because it was difficult for you to eat, drink, move, and breathe. And I’m sorry you had to hear me cry, but thank you for trying to lift your head to reassure me that everything is going to be ok.

Thank you for being the best dog ever. I’m so glad all my friends got to meet you.

And after your existence of 12 years, I think I can say that this is day my childhood ended. Thank you, Shortie Mac Short Short for being there half of my life.

Talk on the phone while in a bathroom stall. Don’t they realize there are so many feces and urine particles floating around?! And secondly, it gives me stage fright to be honest. Thirdly, isn’t it weird if the person on the receiving end hears the toliet flush?!

Next, how can females go straight to the mirror after relieving themselves and fix their hair without washing their hands?! Then aburptly leave without washing their hands! If they didn’t wipe, either way it’s gross!

Lastly, how hard is it for females to flush the toliet… especially after they take a dump?!

In conclusion, please don’t forget to be ladylike and clean when using the bathroom… publicly at least.

My sister suggested wearing a boyfriend blazer. It hides the pretty bow! Thoughts? 

06 APR 11: Lady Gaga concert for Ashley’s 21st birthday. Does this dress look too Dolly Parton? How high should my boots come up? I don’t wanna look like a skank. And I don’t know how the young, hip kids dress anymoreee. I wanna be cool!

One of my biggest pet peeve is being called spoiled. Sure my parents have blessed both my sister and I with things, like an education… and material things. But they also taught us the meaning of a dollar. And once I convinced them that I could go to school and have a job, I got myself a damn job.

I will admit that I have spoiled myself with trips, clothes, shoes, and accessories… but it was by no means at the expense of my parents. There is nothing else in the world than to 1. Have my daddy back at home, than risking his life and time away from his family, 2. Have my mommy work the night shifts to help support our family.

It’s probably a bad high, but I love the satisfaction of buying things I want with my own money. So… *hmph!*
